Pre-purchase inspection
A pre-purchase inspection gives you a clearer view of a used piano’s condition before you decide to buy. A brief playing test can reveal obvious concerns, but it cannot assess every important internal part.
What an inspection considers
The technician can assess the piano’s general condition, playability and visible mechanical concerns, and explain issues that may need further work. Structural condition and access to the instrument can affect the scope of an inspection.
Information to provide
Share the piano’s location, type, brand and model if known, along with the seller’s available times. Ask the seller before opening panels or allowing access to the instrument.
Use the findings to decide
An inspection is information to support your decision, not a guarantee of future performance. Moving, tuning, repairs or restoration may involve additional work and cost.
Service areas
Melbourne is Joel’s primary service area and Brisbane is Jonathan Kok’s. Sydney and Perth are by appointment only. Share your suburb so the right service arrangements can be discussed.
Ask about your piano
Tell us about your piano and ask whether pre-purchase inspection is the right next step. We’ll discuss the instrument and what you have noticed before work begins.
