Action regulation
The action is the mechanism that transfers movement from a key to a hammer. Regulation involves adjusting parts of that mechanism so the piano responds more evenly to the player.
Signs it may need attention
Uneven key depth, sluggish response, inconsistent repetition or a touch that varies across the keyboard can be reasons to ask about regulation. Other mechanical issues can create similar symptoms.
Assessment and adjustment
The action’s condition and existing setup guide what can be adjusted. Some pianos may need repairs or replacement parts before regulation can achieve a useful result.
Talk through your playing needs
Let us know who plays the piano and what feels different. The work can then be considered around the instrument and the way it is used.
Service areas
Melbourne is Joel’s primary service area and Brisbane is Jonathan Kok’s. Sydney and Perth are by appointment only. Share your suburb so the right service arrangements can be discussed.
Ask about your piano
Tell us about your piano and ask whether action regulation is the right next step. We’ll discuss the instrument and what you have noticed before work begins.
